Now most auction get put on hibid online. I loved going to auctions, almost wanted to do this as a side gig until seeingnalmost no local auctioneers dont do live auctions.

Hi Blake. I am not an auctioneer but I want to teach myself how to chant. I recently attended the livestock auction at fair and decided I wanted to dive in and give it a try. My grandma was an auctioneer for many years and she was really good. I have fond memories of going to her auctions in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I hope to become somewhat good at chants and maybe this time next year I could run the fundraiser auction at the kids’ school. Thanks for the videos. They are very helpful.

Alaska auctioneer after ✈️to Missouria Auction School 1996 before that as a boy in Midland , Texas listening to the old Lucky Strike tobacco auctioneer advertising on AM radio so o sent off for the Missouria Auction School correspondence course on thick records until I wore the grooves out on those old 45 records . When I got back to Alaska I started calling auctions in Fairbanks, Alaska and became quite successful and in demand selling everything amaginable like refrigerators to Eskimos lol. I’m a born again Christian and want to give God the glory for what he did in saving me and making this old drunk a new creature in Christ . After 20 years living in the bush of Alaska trapping by dog team I moved back to my native home of Van, Texas as a licensed auctioneer for many years here my happiest times are helping children learn to bid call and your videos are very appreciated . You've got mad skills. I could listen to that all day. Ever since I heard the sound of an auctioneer for the first time as a little kid I knew I wanted learn how to do that and become one some day. I've always been a fast talker, I'm really good at tongue twisters and I love memorizing and spittin the hardest n fastest rap lyrics i can find. But I never thought I'd be learning how to do what I thought was almost the impossible of learning how to chant like an auctioneer by taking your awesome lesson videos on UA-cam. I love how you've broken it down for us and take it step by step. Everyday I'm sounding less and less like an amateur and I can't tell you how proud and ecstatic I was the first time I got the price right on one of the items you had us practice bid lol Can't thank you enough for these awesome, effective and fun tutorial videos you made. Being a computer guy i just dont get the role of auctioneer any more. Its kinda like open out cry for stocks which is pretty much dead now. The market is the market regardless if a human or computer sells. It is entertaining to watch them sell though and definately see the role historically.

If there a chance to get an answer on this i woild appreciate it. Total beginner here. Just did my 3rd annual fundraiser emcee live auction event. No training. Winged it well, however, one example i want advice on: dinner with our Pastor for guests, valued at Priceless. Started at $300. It stalled at $450. We went in approx $25 increments. I broke the chant and started using same type voice/cadence but started saying that the last year we got $1,000+, the other VIP dinner just auctioned got $600 which i split to two bidders so it was $1,200. Since this was head pastor i compared and taunted crowd and we started climbing by $10 increments. I improvised chatter and got to $650. It was long drawn out, funny, winged it, but I was improvising, rereading highlights of the details etc. When the bidding slows down so much at an event of acquaintances (church, company, neighborhood, charity) what technique is there? This video is great but if the room slows down more and the high bid seems way to low, what tips for boosting it (end of the evening, people are tired etc)? Thanks
